TIP RADIUS

​HOW TO: MEASURE TIP RADIUS (FOR THUMB)
If your machine has...

BUCKET ONLY: To provide an accurate tip radius of your bucket, measure from the end of the bucket teeth to the center of the main pin of the bucket

BUCKET WITH COUPLER: Tip radius can be determined by measuring from the end of the bucket teeth to the center of the main pin that goes through the end of the stick

HOW TO: MEASURE FOR EXCAVATOR THUMB
Information we need from you:

MANUAL THUMB

1. Make & model of machine
2. Measurement of the tip radius. The tip radius is defined as the length from the center of the main pin to the tip of the teeth.
3. If your machine has a quick coupler/pin grabber, measuring the tip radius is slightly different. With bucket attached to the coupler, you will need to measure the length from where the main pin goes through the stick to the tip of the teeth

HYDRAULIC THUMB

1. Make & model of machine
2. To provide a general estimate, the tip radius measurement is needed. Remember, if you have quick coupler/pin grabber, this is measured slightly different. See HOW TO: MEASURE TIP RADIUS.
